Minister of Information successfully receives cataract surgery

PHNOM PENH: Information Minister Khieu Kanharith has successfully undergone cataract surgery in Thailand. This is according to a post on his personal Facebook page today.

The minister said he had the operation yesterday 30th March.

He wrote: "I have successfully had surgery to replace both of my lenses, but now the doctor still wants my eyes to stay closed, leaving a view of about 10%, enough to see the path and recognize the beautiful doctor's face, who only takes care of me.

The Minister thanked his close and distant friends for their concern and greetings.

The minister said that this morning, the doctor will remove the blindfold, if all goes well, and will be able to return home on 1st April 2022.
